If you live in Florida, you live in a paradise, right? Well, that's why we're here at any rate. This aptly named 'Sunshine State' enjoys 3,000 hours of sun annually, in a tropical or subtropical climate, is the only continental State to benefit from both ocean sunrises and ocean sunsets, has 1200 miles of sandy beaches, 2267 miles of tidal shoreline, 11,000 miles of rivers and waterways, 1250 golf courses (more than any other state!) ... and no State income tax! It's GDP also makes it the 4th largest State in the US, and the 22nd largest economy in the world. Above all, its potential is huge because it has attracted the highest concentration of businesses vs any other state in the US. What's not to like?
Well not surprisingly, there is something. The challenge Florida has is Income. It has some of the lowest household income levels in the US (ranks 33rd among the states despite being the 4th largest GDP). It has the highest rate of bank failures of any state (27 in 2010), and 80% of its counties are below key national economic indicators like per capita income, employment, and retail sales. Many counties (most actually) have 20% of their populations living below the poverty threshold. Yet we have more businesses per capita than any other state.
This state of affairs simply means that the businesses we do have don't know how to generate income. And that's where we come in. We have a mission, to grow the income and job levels in Florida by re-educating its businesses – especially all the hundreds of thousands of small to medium sized businesses – how to predictably generate customers and cashflow, so that their income and job levels, and those of the communities in which they operate, can grow substantially. Nick previously had a 30 year business career in corporate life in senior Marketing, Sales, Operations and General Management roles for leading global companies Procter & Gamble and Seagram-Universal. Among other things, he developed strong leadership and business building skills operating in a variety of countries and business communities. Fluent in several languages, Nick gained empathy with many cultures and mindsets, and in particular enjoys the work of revitalization and paradigm shifts, the goal of any coach.
Arcelia, also multi-lingual, thrives on helping others achieve their personal and business goals. She brings business experience gained over 25 years in a variety of marketing and management positions in international organisations, including Ogilvy & Mather. Alongside these activities she also founded and ran her own business with revenues of over $1mill/yr. This has given Arcelia a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that exist for all businesses, whether small or large, and especially for the business owners who need our coaching.
